About the Event

Western Beef Association is bringing three workshops to the Esperance Port Zone covering Better Hay and Silage: Improving Productivity and Resilience.

There is a choice of 3 dates - Thursday 18 July (Munglinup), Friday 19 July (Neridup), or Monday 22 July (Dalyup). The workshops will be hosted by local farms, when you register you will be given the address and directions.

This interactive workshop, facilitated by two specialists, will feature:

  • Time of cutting - quality vs. yield
  • Crop and pasture differences
  • Best practice steps for great hay and silage outcomes
  • Storing and feeding-out, avoiding waste
  • Interpreting feed tests
  • Stock class requirements and effective allocation
  • Cost effective decisions

Time: 9 am - 4 pm

Cost:

  • Western Beef Financial Members: $25
  • Non-members: $ 55

Registration includes:

  • Lunch, morning and afternoon tea
  • Two follow-up webinars
  • Voucher for fodder analysis ($67-80)
  • Successful Silage Manual ($75)
  • WA specific notes

Western Beef has partnered with Meat & Livestock Australia, South Coast NRM, ASHEEP & BEEF and SEPWA to bring these workshops to the Espereance region.

This project received funding from the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund.
